Morning all, Charlene here! π
I love Thursday mornings. I walk my wee one to school and, because I don’t need to rush back for work, I can take a detour along our fabulous nature trail on my way home.
I do this most Thursdays; the same route, every time. And, whilst it is lovely and familiar and comfortable, which is fine, it can also become a bit…”samey”.
This morning, I found myself wanting to mix things up a bit, but not getting too sidetracked from getting home because I’ve got things I need to do today.
So, I came to a crossroads in my journey – both literally and metaphorically – and had a choice to make.
Do I take the paved path to the right – the comfortable option that I always take, or do I go on a wee adventure into the unknown and take the one on the left through the woods – the path less travelled?
With this post in mind (I don’t just make this stuff up on the hoof after all! π), I went through the woods and it was quite a trek, dodging the overgrown plants, climbing over fallen trees from last year’s storms – it was bloody hard going on the old legs!! But, it was a nice change and I felt better for it.
And that’s what taking the path less travelled is all about, really. It can be risky. It can be scary. It can be hard.
But, in my experience, it’s almost always absolutely worth it.
Which path do you tend to take? I’d love to hear your stories in the comments π
